Hen Party adventures Cumbria
This morning I met up with 20 other folk who are interested in old Cumbrian slate mines and quarries. I learnt tons about the history that surround industrial fell mining. Today is the tip of the iceberg, there is so much to explore in this fantastic county we live in.

Despite the chilly waters this family did great. Well done to the Miller family.
I get to spend time with such sound people, this mornings session on the Via Ferrata was great. Happy 40th Kieren.

Ghyll Scrambling Keswick
Chilly start to the Ghyll session but soon warmed up. Karl, Josh & Ross had a mega time over at Stoney Croft this afternoon. Here are a few pics from the session. Hope to see them again soon.
First session of the year. A bit chilly today but two wetsuits did the trick. After the floods of last December Stoney Croft Ghyll has changed, pools are deeper and trees have been moved, giving the feel of a slightly different environment. Todays level was sporty, I wish it was at this level all year around. Zoe & Matt did a great job if not a bit apprehensive at the start. By the time we finished they both said how much they enjoyed themselves.

Big thanks to the National Trust for putting on a talk about the mining history that surrounds Stoney Croft Ghyll. Stoney Croft Ghyll is the most used Ghyll scramble in the north lakes due to it being really accessible from Keswick as well as being a good introduction Ghyll for anyone who hasn't scrambled before. Over the years I've picked up bits of knowledge but this afternoons session that was run by a geologist really gave me more of an insight to what really went on during the mining days of the north lakes during the 16 century. Thank you #nationaltrust
