Last of the snow.

A bit late I know but last week I had a trip into the National Park with two pals for a bit of winter #climbing . We set off from the Borrowdale Valley and headed for Great End. Once at the bottom of Great End we could see the main gully known as Central Gully. We fitted our crampons and with axes at the ready set off. There were two small sections of vertical ice which got the heart pumping a little more then usual due to the fact we were soloing. The last sixty meters was hard snow which we charged up. We had a spot of lunch and then made our way over to Scafell Pike. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, with views to die for. We made our way back down via Great End and Grains Gill, once back at the car I was thankful to kick my boots off. What a great place #cumbria  is for #outdoor   #adventure
